Two Tank Tops

I've been wearing two tank tops almost everyday for the past two weeks...and I think it will continue for the remainder of this pregnancy.

See examples here and here.

I have to wear two, as layers, because just one seems slightly scandalous...especially in my late-pregnancy-body. But they are the only maternity tops that I own that are LONG. With the big belly, I really need something to completely cover it....I could go the muumuu route, but that requires complete lack of regard for what you look like. And I still care. I care enough because every time I see Tiff or Chris or Jude...I remind them that I'm AGAIN wearing two tanks.

I have a white one (usually the bottom layer), yellow, magenta, teal, and gray. The only thing that's stopping me from buying the black and blue one is that this pregnancy is ALMOST over.

That's the light at the end of my "two tank top" tunnel :)

Piggie Tails!

Look what Miss Tiff discovered!!!!

Let the Process Begin!

36 weeks!

9 months!

Dr said she would not stop labor.

We had our appointment today....with an ULTRASOUND! It was the most amazing ultrasound I've ever had. Mason looked PERFECT! It was really cool to see him soooo big and doing great. Estimated current weight of 6 pounds 5 ounces. His heartbeat was 145. And as the ultrasound tech said..."his head is waaaaay down there". His hands were by his face a lot, but we got to see his adorable face. At this time, it definitely appears that he has my "fuller" sized mouthy-lips on his face :) He is my child...

Afterwards I met with my dr and I'm 1cm and 50% effaced. The process has begun!!! HOWEVER, I was also 1 cm for a really long time with Olivia...so it doesn't mean that he is coming any sooner. But, it was definitely good news and we are excited!!!

i-Phone

Love love love my i-Phone!
some possible dropped calls, haven't received my bumper yet...
Tim brought up a good point - that I'm just in love with having the internet 24/7 (never had that access before). But still love it! Love the games, my lists, my music, my email, the internet, etc...

Maybe it also helps that I get extra cuddle time with my sweet girl.
Elmo videos can play on the phone :)

Love Her.

What Happens When...

...your second child is almost here???
(countdown - hopefully less than 5 weeks)

You get a doggie door!!!

Yes, it's installed and WE LOVE IT! Guess what we don't have to do anymore?? Worry about letting Jerry outside.

G.L.O.R.I.O.U.S.

Jerry seems to love it too. And as an added bonus, we haven't heard much howling the past couple of days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT?!?!?

Let's say that again...

We haven't heard much howling the past couple of days.

Now, I recognize it's only be a couple of days...but in the past, whenever Olivia would cry, Jerry would try to get away from it. He would wait by the door to go outside or run into our bedroom. If we didn't get to him in time, he would begin his very FRUSTRATING and ANNOYING howl.

BUT...with the new doggie door, he just lets himself outside and waits until Olivia's "special" moment has passed. Now, I don't know if this is the cure....but if it helps alleviate the problem even a little...then it's 100% worth it!!!

Happy HAPPY Family!

Pairs of Shoes

Little Miss loves herself some shoes. She often goes into her room and gets out two matching shoes and wants us put them on her feet. If we don't do it immediately, she puts them down and grabs another pair (like she grabbed the "wrong" pair to put on).

So what do we end up with???

Little pairs of shoes...sprinkled around our house.

Busy Days

WOW...Tim has been really busy at work lately....lots of late nights :(

And to think that school is about to start again and a newborn coming...

That's a lot!

Here's this week's work schedule (Tuesday is purple because he was out of the office and drove to Dallas that morning and didn't come back until later that night).
TGIF!

Well....Hello....

Today, I put Olivia down for her nap in her big girl bed. I was on the computer and I heard her talking and getting settled in her bed through the video monitor...although I had not looked at her yet. Then, I hear some "different" noises and was about to check out her status on the video monitor....when who appeared at my door????
A beautiful little girl with a HUGE smile on her face. She was soooo proud and happy with herself. It took every ounce of me to not just scoop her up with lots of kisses and tell her how silly she was being. Instead, mean mommy, took her arm and escorted her back to her room saying, "it's night-night time". Olivia did not find it amusing and starting crying...got back into her bed and fell asleep 10 minutes later.

Early Morning Boating

Today we left at 6am to get the best water on Lake Conroe with Justin/Tiff/and girls. And we found it!!!

Glass.
(I think Tiff is saying "oooo" in regards to her board gliding....)

A cove protected by the wind with no other boats and just our wakeboards slicing the water.
(oh...hello next summer when I can help chop up the water!)

We also did some swimming and tubing. Olivia rode the tube again and enjoyed it...although she was getting tired and just wanted to suck her thumb. She experienced her first bit of "air" after hitting another boat's wake...the thumb didn't budge and although everyone else had a face of shock, Olivia just continued to chill out.

Afterwards, we got Olivia back on the boat where she fell asleep for the second time ever on the boat!!

And the beautiful Johnson girls did some of their own tubing :)

Thank you for another wonderful boating adventure!!!

She Had Me At Hello :)

As a previous teacher I've been anxiously awaiting the days when Olivia would begin to really say some words, then sentences, followed by songs and reading books. I'm excited and impatient...

And still waiting.

After speaking with the pediatrician at 18 months, she said we would reevaluate Olivia's verbal skills at 2 years. Looking at any spectrum of language development, Olivia is on the chart...just at the low end. She is attempting some words and has a couple of words under her belt. However, I got impatient and called the dr asking for a referral to get Olivia evaluated by a speech therapist. Working in a school setting...it's soooo evident how very important early intervention is, and I don't want to be the Mommy that ignores a problem and could have had it addressed much earlier.

Therefore this past week I spent multiple days on the phone with various doctors and insurance... and Olivia learned three new words!!!

hi, bye-bye, and up (although 'up' sounds more like 'bra')

So plans to get her evaluated are on hold right now. I know that all kids develop on their own sweet schedule and that Olivia's time will come....it's just this mommy that's having the problem.

Maybe I should see a dr???
Or just spend my weeks on the phone with doctors discussing her strengths/weaknesses :)
oh...she has the sweetest of all voices...
in love

Drinks Anyone?

Right now, I am LOVING...
strawberry daiquiris (virgin),
mocha frappuccinos (decaf),
and red flavored icees (also known as slurpees).

7.08.2010

Okay Mason...

...here's a deal.

You can stay in my belly for as long as you like (or until the dr says you have to come out)...if it allows enough time for your digestive system to mature,
and you don't need to use any of these.

i love you

update: okay, you can use some of these...
but let's go for LESS than Olivia :)

Happy 4th!!!

The day started off with a quick swim at the pool. We had to show off O's all American bathing suit... She LOVES the pool!!
Then the Johnsons and Outtens came over for dinner and a couple of fireworks.
The night ended with us watching fireworks. We didn't exactly get the best viewing ... but it didn't stop us from having fun.
Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th!
