One Year Ago...

And, thankfully, didn't.  Instead suffered some brain damage...
and now is a howlin' fool!
(yes, I am laughing in this video.  And it was the last time that I found his howling funny.  It's extremely annoying.)

Glad he's still here.
Love you sweet puppy!  Happy One Year Resurrection :)

Three Things

chick-fil-a - what can I say, this restaurant is hands-down my favorite.  The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is charming.  You can trade in the kids meal toy for a more appropriate toddler toy/book or for ice cream.  The employees are very friendly, always willing to bring the tray to the table and refill my coke zero 4+ times.  The spicy chicken sandwich and waffle fries are my go-to meal.  And always, must have the honey roasted bbq sauce.  DIVINE!

organic milk boxes - reasons I like this are actually not because it's organic, that's like the cherry on top.  This is a favorite because it's served in individual boxes and doesn't have to be chilled.  It's great for traveling or lunches on the go.  And number one reason?  Olivia loves it.

thirty-one - cute cute cute personalized stuff (gotta love anything with an initial, monogram or name on it).  I was thinking about becoming a consultant, but just can't imagine that in my life right now.  Always accepting gifts :)

Steamy Bath Time

haha, taken with the iphone...but a moment to share.  The bathroom was nice and steamy for Olivia...to help with her cold.  While she was splashing in the big tub, Mason receieved his weekly scrub down :)

Our Friday Night Fun :)
We had another progressive dinner. Can you guess our theme?

I do have to say, this one was the best yet.  We didn't clean our houses, we served foods like tater tot casserole, twinkies, beer-butt chicken,  frito-pie, corn dogs, etc.  And drank cheap beer... Good Times!

'Tis The Season...

...for colds. And Olivia has caught one. Started Monday and has gotten progressively worse. Of course, Daddy left on Sunday for Madrid. There is lots of snot and coughing. Maybe a low grade fever??? Last night was the worst.
Timeline:
Bed at 7pm for Olivia w/ Advil - she was a bear!
7:30pm Mason to bed
10pm - Olivia up coughing & crying - gave her some water, back to sleep
12am - Olivia up coughing & screaming - Tylenol and cuddles
1am - Olivia still crying
1:30 - Mason crying ... don't know why, so far, he hasn't caught it
3am - Olivia back up coughing & whining ...watched her on video monitor for an hour
545am - Mason crying
630 - started day...got up and fed Mason
730 - put Mason back down and got crying Olivia up
845 - finished first viewing of Beast (beauty and the beast)
900 - steam bath
1030 - finished second viewing of Beast
11am - naps...

ugh. don't know how the rest of the day is going to go. I canceled tutoring and the babysitter - hopefully everyone will get some sleep and feel better soon!!!
Oh, and we are really really excited about Daddy coming back home tomorrow. Things are always better with him around!

No-Me

This cracks me up.

I was really hoping that my dyslexic tendencies would not be passed onto my children...this is not looking good.

Happy 5 Months Mason!!

5 months?!?

Tidbits:
*wearing size 3 diapers
*wearing 6-9 month clothes
*weighs 16 lb 6 ounces
*will give lots of giggles if nuzzled near neck :)
*rarely take infant carseat out of car...too heavy! (will probably move to convertible soon)
*can almost sit up on his own
*rolls from his back to tummy and tummy to back
*sleeps in his crib
*at night, he is put down for bed between 7-8pm and we do not go in to get him until (at the earliest) 5am...a sleeping post will come soon
*usually takes three naps a day (sometimes a fourth depending on the hours left in the day)
* occasionally will use a pacifier
*during the day eats every 2.5-3 hours
*gives the best, million dollar smiles -- usually that cause the whole head to shake and eyes to close :)
*went on his first plane ride
*likes to stand
* squeals - really high pitch
* fascinated by his sister (although I would be too, if someone was always three inches from my face)
*sticks out his tongue

Hello Expressive Language...

...I'm sooooooooo happy to hear you :)

As we mentioned, over Christmas Santa brought Olivia her expressive language!!
We are thrilled and loving it!!!

She repeats almost everything we say,
even the stuff we would rather not hear from a 2 year old.

She uses expressions, "oh boy" "enough" "wow" "cool" "careful". She can count and knows some songs. Happy.

The other day, "Like a Prayer" came on the radio and I was singing. Olivia started dancing. And I said to her...Mommy likes Madonna. Olivia's reply??? "Madonna".

This video is very boring, but shows off some of her new skills.

eeewww!!

For the past couple of weeks Mason is finally going to the bathroom completely on his own.  We are sooo happy about this.
We only wish that it would remain in his diaper.

~2011~

Happy New Year!
We brought in 2011 with a normal fun (I won!) game night.

I debated sharing some of my resolutions.  I always make a lot and only keep a few, some longer than others.  However love the quote, "Shoot for the moon.  Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."

Check. Decided to share.  You can make fun of me later when I'm completely ignoring them and that will motivate me to get back in gear!

Here they are, in no particular order:
*Prepare a Will.
*Run 5 miles a week (did this a couple of years ago and maintained it ALL YEAR!)  It can be one mile every day or 3 miles one day and 2 another.  {EVIDENCE: week/total miles run:  1/5; 2/5; 3/0 bad bad bad; 4/5; 5/0 bad bad bad; 6/3; 7/4.5; 8/5; 9/13;}
*Play more, clean less.  Tim is an incredible Dad and plays all the time with the kiddos...ignoring the "mess" that can be cleaned up later.
*Check into mint.com on a weekly basis.  We have a budget, but frequently I have no idea what's going on because I let Tim deal with it.  I spend money and need to be aware of how much I'm spending.
*Use a setting OTHER than auto on my fancy nancy camera
*Baptize the kids (yes :( they have not been baptized yet)
*Visit Brick Nana (named Brick because she lived in a brick house).  This is Tim's Mom's grandma, which makes her Olivia and Mason's great-great grandma.  That's incredible!!!!
*Send, at least, a card for birthdays and anniversaries.  (I am horrible HORRIBLE at this.  If you don't receive a birthday or anniversary card...please message me and remind me how I'm breaking a resolution.  And a belated card does NOT count).  I do believe I've made this a resolution for the past three years.  NO EXCUSES ANDREA.
*Plan Tim and Andrea trip, with no kiddos.

Wow, that's a list.  I may add to it and I hope to cross off things.
Love the New Year and a fresh start!!!
Go Me.
