Welcome to Texas!!!!
The Sanner's have arrived in Texas!!! Katie and kids will be living in San Antonio for the next few weeks, while hubby is working in Dallas (and searching for their new home). We are sooo excited to have more family within driving distance.

A Local Airport
I never posted about this?!?
A couple of weeks ago, I took the kids to Lone Star Executive Airport. We sat at Black Walnut and ate our lunch outside while watching airplanes take off. Of course, this was very entertaining for Mason. He spent the first 30 minutes screaming with every plane he saw...
THREE hours later we left!!!

Happy Birthday Grandma!
Another fun birthday celebration!!! I remember two years ago celebrating my mom's birthday and thinking who knows when I will ever get to celebrate her birthday with her again....
I don't have to worry about that anymore :)

Rodeo
I have no idea why, but every year the rodeo comes to Houston and we've managed to NOT go.... Thank you so much to the Outtens for planning and ordering tickets so that we would be committed to going.
This was my first view of the area...
As far as I could see, there were rides and booths and people....AMAZING.
We bought tickets for the kids to go on rides... They had an incredible time. I think their favorite was the bottom left picture, the boat ride :)
We also ate a ton of amazing food...and we could have indulged some more, but we want to save something for next year ;) Snow cones, fried oreos, fried snickers bar, cotton candy, popcorn....I mean seriously?!?!

And we finially make it inside for the rodeo... I've never seen anything like it. Olivia was REALLY into it...she cheered for the horses and paid attention to everything going on. Mason fell asleep for a solid 90 minutes in the middle of it. The night ended with a concert by The Band Perry...
What an incredible day!!!
Needless to say, we WILL be going back next year :)

Circus!!
Today we went to the circus with Grandma/Grandpa and the Hawks.

Sleepover with Cousins
Last night Olivia and Mason were invited to spend the night with the Hawks!!! Thank you for my first EVER night completely alone in my house :)

Our Favorite Babysitter!!!
We haven't had Miss Lauren over in awhile...she's a fancy college student now. However she happened to be home for spring break (which was also our spring break). Needless to say, we've seen a lot of her and the kids are absolutely crazy about her...
I mean, if you make an airplane and princess costume out of construction paper...who wouldn't love you!?

A Girlie Date Night
Olivia has been asking me for awhile to stay up late with me. Since Tim is traveling this week...it was the perfect time for our "date night".
We put Mason together and then skipped into the family room where we watched a movie and ate snacks. Needless to say, she did NOT want to go to bed ;)

Spontaneous Fun
Randomly yesterday Tim and I decided to get a last minute babysitter and visit Alana and Sean (they just recently moved closer to downtown). They took us out to cool bar where we had drinks and time flew!!!

Date Lunch
Tim has to leave in a couple of days for a week...some big wind conference in BARCELONA... OH and it's the kids spring break...
I surprised Tim this afternoon with a massage and then we went out to lunch. It was a gorgeous day and we enjoyed a very leisurely lunch :) :) :)

Rodeo Days
It was Rodeo Day at school this week. Olivia was anticipating this day almost as much as Christmas?!?! She came home two weeks prior to the event and asked me "to please order a rodeo shirt and rodeo boots and rodeo pants". HA!!!
Lucky girl got herself a new shirt and boots. Mason picked up his blue shirt because it sparkled. Love that my native Texans dig this day!!

ICE
Okay - this winter weather in houston is CRAAAAZY!!! I'm starting to think it has something to do with some of my east coast family moving here this past year... This morning we woke up to all the trees covered in ice. It was rather beautiful...hopefully it didn't cause too much damage to all the budding trees!

Play
A little honesty here - staying at home with my children is harder than I ever thought it would be. Since I used to be a teacher, people frequently mention what an advantage the kids have with me at home. How I must always sing songs and work on skills, play ABC bingo, number leap frog, etc... But seriously, I don't do HALF of the things that I know I should. My motivation is not there and the pile of "other" things to do is always lingering. I struggle on a daily basis just to PLAY with my kids...
Why???
They are so important to me and they want my attention and companionship...so why do I see playing as a "task"? The saddest part about this, is that next year Olivia will be in kindergarten and our time will be much more limited.
Grateful that a neighbor captured this moment for me.
I've been trying to make an extra effort and on this particular day we were each a different train (steam, diesel, monorail). We were flying various fruits, vegetables, and people back to the hospital that was taking care of circus animals who needed crutches.
