Clean Teeth
The dental hygienist used cupcake toothpaste... Mason, for the rest of the day, walked around and said "Want to see my cupcakes? (and then would open his mouth up wide)"
Both kids had nice compliments from the Dentist!

Not Happening Again...
...for awhile, at least
I decided to take both kids on their bikes while I ran. It was a short loop, only one mile....
It wasn't easy nor fun. Sometimes I forget that Mason is not yet even 3.... His little legs really had to work hard. He cried and I ended up pushing him up every hill while I was jogging. Olivia did well riding her bike, but managing both of them was slightly terrifying. They both wanted to be the leader, there were other pedestrians on the path that we were trying not to hit, and of course there is a road with fast cars....just a little too much for just me to handle.
Oh, and I normally track the distance from outside of our neighborhood. So, in the end, the kids actually biked 2 miles (oooops!).

Foto Friday: The Bug
Can you see the bug? I would say it's about three inches long.
We are driving in the parking lot and I hear Olivia say, "uuuummm....there's a bug on Mason". I turn around and notice the man-eater. Mason hasn't noticed it climbing on his chest yet.
And then he does. Olivia is screaming and shaking and tears are streaming down her face. Mason starts to scream and cry. We are in the Target parking lot with both Tim and I laughing soooo hard and both kids absolutely freaking out. I wish you were there...and everyone else that was there, had no idea what was going on.
Did I really just spend time writing this??!

Evening Swim
Our pool gets used almost every day. Sometimes it's only for twenty minutes, like in the evening when the kids get to jump in without sunscreen or bathing suits :o

Moving Day
Generally speaking, the words "Moving Day" are often met with grunts and groans. However, there was nothing but anticipation and excitement in this house.
The morning started with some stretches.
Oh please let our stuff still be inside.....
.....Houston, we have a problem.....
JOKING ;)
Everything was still piled up, including Mr. Potato Man.
I can not believe that Erin did most of this packing by herself...and to help with her "entertainment" she labeled her boxes...

Happy Happy!!! Seriously....can't believe we are taking this picture :)
The four of us, together, in Texas, in THEIR house.

I clearly remember this moment, 4 years ago in a London Pub, "dreaming" about living near each other.
A dream come true.

A Boat Ride
Today my parents rented a boat and we all went out on Lake Conroe. It was slightly overcast, which was perfect. Actually, it was perfect because there was so much family, on a boat, together!!
We did some tubing.
I love Grandpa's expression in these photos (he claims to have never pulled a tube before...)
Pic of the Day
After only five minutes in our drive home, we turned around to see this:
Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for a perfect day!

Background: When we first met Justin and Tiffini, they brought their little girls over to our house and would put them to bed (one in a pack-n-play and one in a bed). We would stay up late and play games/hang out. And so, when we had our kids, it's what we did. We take our kids to their house, put them to bed, hang out, then late night cradle our sleepy kids back into the car and home to bed. Then we meet Mike and Chris and they followed suit, doing the exact same with their kids. It's just what we've always known and done. The kids know they are going to someone else's house, they will get to play, and then have to go to bed...
It's their normal.
It's their normal.
Well, tonight was a big night. Generally we have to put our kids to bed separately...they just have so much fun together and don't get much sleeping done. Tonight was the first time they went to bed together and fell asleep :o
Love love love these cuddling picture!
It's a good thing we can start bunking the kids up...
we are running out of rooms to stash sleeping kiddos.

Playing
We've got good kids :)
So far this summer, we've stayed very busy with playdates and activities almost every day. I mentioned something to Tim about how we've been running around a lot (and it is a good thing), and we came to the conclusion that there are more options with our playdates since no one is in school and add the new dynamic of having family that lives close by (which we are very grateful for). This is all great, but after Olivia was gone for almost the whole day yesterday, I decided to cancel a playdate this morning and just allow the kids some time at home.
We came home this morning from Jr. Swim Team and the kids both went upstairs and have been playing for the past HOUR!!! I went up to check on them wondering what they were doing and to propose playing in the pool.
This is where I found them:
They didn't know I was there and I just left them. This nice sibling playtime is precious and they should continue it for as long as the peace lasts (it's pretty close to being put in the record books).

4th of July
Happy 4th of July!! We started our morning with a parade.
Then visited a pool, where Olivia went off the diving board!
Afterwards we hosted a BBQ. There were 8 kids 4 years and younger...three of them were young babies, under one year! Needless to say, we had a lot of fishes swimming in our pool.
Afterwards, we went on top of the Anadarko building to watch the fireworks.
(Thank you so much Kimberly and Joe!)
The "test" fireworks scared Olivia. Actually, she was terrified. She jumped and screamed and cried. She ran behind my folding chair and put a death grip on the legs of it. Screaming and crying. I couldn't get her to move.... Finally she agreed move....and another set of "test" fireworks went off.... All her screaming and crying set off Mason...
Fun Times.
For the first five minutes Olivia and Mason both closed their eyes.
And then she got a little brave and opened one eye....
Mason, did not.
And then she opened both eyes and saw the beautiful fireworks!!
