Day 2 Camping

We had INCREDIBLE weather camping.  Cool mornings/nights and breezy warm days.  We woke up and kids rode horses and we went on a hike.  Afterwards we relaxed, read books, kids played in pine needles, then we celebrated Logan's 6th birthday (Grandma and Grandpa came to celebrate too!).  The kids would go to the park for awhile and play.....it was perfect!

Thank you Hawks for a fun camping trip.
Really hoping we can do this again soon!!!

And a huge thanks to my sister for snapping this:

Camping!

We've attempted multiple times to go camping with the Hawks....and it's finally worked out!  Huntsville State Park for camping fun and to celebrate Logan's birthday.  It doesn't get much better, especially when it involves yule log hunting, covertly turning out neighbors too bright lights, and repeating telling stories about burning hiking boots!

Quinn and Mason

We've carpooled with Jude all school year and it's been such a blessing.  These two sometimes even get to hang out a little before school.

Kids in a Trunk

After school, I'm usually parked at the front of the neighborhood.  The kids all enjoy the thrill of riding in the trunk with the window down :)

Just Call Me Emeril!

GUESS WHAT?!
I've cooked.  Not a ton....hoping to make it a habit!

White Tank Top

She went to school in a sweater, and because of the Texas weather,
she walked out in a white tank top.
there is something about this look...

Best Friends

Can these two look any cuter???

Date Night

It's not often that we actually go out with Mike and Chris.  It's so easy and cheap for us to stay in and hang.  However, tonight we decided to venture out.  It was a little chilly, but we had a great time at top golf!

New "Family' Car

Remember how I mentioned Tim has been "looking" at cars a lot?
Well, he finally made a purchase.
 And we all love it!

Polar Bear Plunge

It usually happens once a winter...the kids remember the fun pool time in the summer and beg us to go in.  Sure...it's chilly....like 50 degrees :)

Sleeping Beauties???

they love to sleep together, and as long as it's not a school night, we allow it

Hike

After they visited us camping, we decided to meet up for a hike at one of the nearby state forest.

Two Nights Ago

Ha...wanted to share this gem from NYE.  Jerry was very nervous from all the fireworks and was "hiding" in my closet, along with these two cuties :) (who gave up their beds for their friends visiting).

Happy New Year!

Hello 2016!
I always love the near year.  My resolutions have not been impressive...however, now it's tradition.

Here were 2015 resolutions:
*stop saying "I'm Sorry" or "sorry".  It's my go to word to empathize with someone.  If I'm truly repentant about something, I will say "I apologize..."  (this is my number one priority)  CHECK!  I did do better with this.  Still not perfect....yet, getting there.
*labels on blog post (repeat from 2014)
*get all our film pictures digitized
*also related to this: go through photos on computer and start deleting some!

*buy new: silverware, pots/pans, dishes, cups, wine glasses, goblets, vacuum, knives, trash can
*find some way to get both kiddos to STOP sucking their thumbs :-/
*read more, sleep more! I spend my evenings staying up too late watching tv or playing games on phone, must curb that and pick up a book! My goal: 12 books (read: the forgotten garden, same kind of different as me, unbroken, divergent)  Only got 4...but it's a start
*trips: college roomie reunion, take kids to see snow, group 40th birthday celebration in tropical location, disney?, AUSTIN, beach trip
*Attend a theater production (repeat from 2014)
*How about five new meals again.

And for 2016
*cook more (this is the one I want to focus on most!)
*Read 8 books (big little lies, the girl on the train, roses, )
*trips: disney, big bend, beach with family, tropical with husband, snowy place with kids
*Continue decorating house (master bedroom, master bath, my closet, kids bath, olivia room, playroom)
*would still love to attend a theater production (now for the third year on my resolutions)
*Heck, I'll take anything I haven't done from the 2015 list!  haha..
