Today was a GREAT day!

Today was a GREAT day!
It started off by Tiff/Justin/Taylor/Aubrey watching our kiddos for us OVERNIGHT
(a huuuuuuuuge thank you to them!!)

Then we drove downtown for Tim's last class, which he had a big presentation.  I decided to document our GREAT day with iphone photos.  And it begins:
While Tim was preparing for the presentation I sat outside with my ipad and people magazine :) It was glorious.
Here is Tim giving his presentation.  He did AMAZING!  Really glad that I was able to see this presentation, it helped show off all his hard work.
He's DONE!!!  No more classes for this man :)
 Cheers!!!
We went to a fiesta at a co-workers house where we sipped some celebration drinks :)
And I got to catch up with some of the wives of Tim's co-workers
Then we had to leave the party and go back to Rice because Tim's group received an award for their presentation!!! (Told you it was amazing :)!)
Next we checked into our hotel for the night.  Somehow we booked a room the night before, when it's been sold out for months?!?!
A very very happy couple

Chillin' in the hotel room - just us and no kids
But we didn't relax long - off to the galleria for a little shopping and dinner
The Lego store - a wall of lego pieces...pretty cool! You can buy them individually.

Out to dinner...just us :)  We won't be needing any highchairs or kids menus.
Cheers - to being done!!!
Ready for the par-tay! (Yes, I changed AGAIN...without kids to worry about, I got to have three different outfits for the day)
A picture of our room number
(in case we have too much fun and forget which room we are in)
The bar was closed to the public.
 Open Bar - round 1
 There was a magician

 And a fire juggler
OH, and belly dancers
 Round ???
Oh my lovely feet have not spent a night in heels in a long long time...wasn't about to take the shoes off and walk on that floor though...
Love this man and so incredibly proud of all his hard work!!

The next morning.  Alive :)
Yesterday was a GREAT day!!!!

Painting the Fence

I'm not positive which brilliant mom mentioned this idea (Tiff was it you?)...but all moms with young children should try this.  It requires: a bowl or cup of water, paint brush (if you don't have a paint brush an old toothbrush or basting brush also works great!), and something made out of wood (rocks also work).
Yes, my daughter and a couple of her friends painted our fence.  OH and it dries quickly...and if it dries, you have to repaint it.  Olivia spent a good 30-40 minutes "painting"  :)

Happy Easter

(lol...this picture cracks me up.  first we weren't planning to take pictures with the easter bunny, thus the half dressed appearance.  second i was happy because neither of my kids were crying, however, i wouldn't say they were excited about seeing the giant bunny.)

A little "happier" picture!  Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Build-A...

Step 1:  pick the most obnoxious bunny at store.
Mommy tries to convince you to pick one of the
neutral colored normal looking bears,
you continue to  go back
to pink-daisy-splattered-bunny.

Step 2: give bunny a heart.
store clerk inserts a scan-tron
that can be used if bunny gets lost?!?!
yes, if you find ugly bunny on the street,
please please please return it to
build a bear so they can open up the bear,
scan the paper, and return
 bunny back to it's owner.
seriously!?!?

Step 3:    give bunny a bath.
no...you can't wash away the pink or daisies.

Step 4: put an outfit on bunny.

Play Mat

Background: I placed Mason on his back looking at his animals on the play mat and then left the room for 30 seconds to go get his clothes to put away.

When I came back, he looked like this.
Phone rings...I ran to get the not-important phone call...gone maybe 20 seconds.

When I came back, he looked like this.
I do not know if this is where I'm going to start seeing some gender differences in this house...but I clearly remember being able to leave Olivia on her play mat looking at her animals.  She would lay there and look and play and swing her arms.

Mason?!?!  Not so much.
