Noddin' and Movin'
I'm noddin' my head like "Yeah!"
Movin' my hips like "Yeah!"
Okay, I admit it...I like this song. It's so cheesy but has a great beat. Plus, I'm a teenie-bop at heart and can picture Olivia and I going to a concert...
And then I saw the video... and pictured me as a mother of a teenager... and decided that I prefer the Singing Nuns or The Wiggles. Both of the former are fully dressed and don't seem to be insinuating rated R situations. Am I sounding old and not fun now??? Because I feel it.
I enjoy Miley's song. Miley's video is okay... but what I'm thinking about is my daughter being obsessed with a singer and wanting to emulate her every move (yikes!). I do believe, in the video, that's Miley's bra. Right? She is wearing a tank top...with a black bra. Seriously, do I want Olivia walking around with her bra cup showing? Then, there is the jungle-gym-apparatus that everyone is "dancing" on. Huumm...those look like poles to me, "Dancing Poles" And her swing does not like look like the swings at my local park.
Maybe I should help Miley out some. I'll direct a perfectly happy, carefree, young teenage appropriate video. She'll be wearing a turtleneck and bootleg jeans. The kids will be sitting in a circle with a karaoke machine in the playroom of my house. And everyone can sing about having a party in the USA.
Thankfully I have 12 years to try and prepare myself to be the mother of a teenage girl, and hopefully by then, I'll be A LOT cooler. OMG!

Go Texans!
Olivia attended her first Texans game. We had a wonderful time tailgating with the Outtens (including Baby Cameron!!!). Miss Chris enjoyed her first cocktail in 10 months and Mr. Mike enjoyed a birthday cupcake! Cameron was sooo sweet and adorable. Nothing like a three week old at his first football game!!

We carried Olivia into the stadium, where we quickly pulled the "we have a young baby, can we cut in line??" card. It worked perfectly :) :) She watched the game, flirted with everyone around us, slept a little and had some snacks. Basically, she was a perfect little fan!!! To bad the Texans didn't deliver...ugh!

Lake Conroe
Oh...these are the days. Thank you Johnson family for giving us the perfect Saturday. It was exactly what we needed. We all took a little wakeboard ride, did lots of swimming, let the sun roast our skin, and the wind blow through our hair. Yes, that's one of my definitions of perfect.
Olivia really enjoyed her time on the water and even didn't mind the bulky life jacket. She was our little fish! Looking forward to next time :)

One Year Ago Today...
Hurricane Ike made landfall. I was 26 weeks pregnant with Olivia and anxious about the storm. We weathered through Mr. Ike, but the aftermath was another story. The damage was much greater and the recovery much longer than expected. We lost a total of four trees and did not have power for a full two weeks. It was not fun! Thankfully I had a smart husband who stood in line for 14 hours to get us a very nice generator (anyone want one??? it's for sale).
Some highlights included:
*Refrigerator clean out meals
*Neighborhood BBQ without lights or ac

The Playroom
The Playroom...has been something I've wanted/claim I needed :) We needed another place to play in our house and a place to store the toys that Olivia has started to collect.
So we removed all the furniture from the study...a desk and two bookcases. We moved the desk and one bookcase into our huge master bedroom, which has actually worked out well. The other bookcase is in the garage until we can find a better location for it.
The room is not finished but it's off to a great start! We got the furniture from IKEA, the dry erase board from a guy on craigslist and the TV was on sale at Walmart :) The dry erase board still needs to be mounted to the wall and I want to put molding around it. The white ottomans/cubes will eventually be covered in fabric and we will be taking the doors off the closet to create a stage type area also using fabric. I'm thinking of putting a rack to hold coloring books above the little table and I'm looking for a cute lamp. I have a quote that I want on the wall, along with the ABC's and some artwork created by Miss O. Soo...there will still be another update with the final product.
But for now...here's what we've got!
