A Dinner

His sister was on her first playdate at Aubrey's and was staying for dinner (the first time she had a playdate without Mommy or Daddy there).  I can't tell you the last time we had just one kiddo for a meal.  Sooooo....we took Mason to the grocery store and he picked out his meal: yogurt, a packet, chocolate milk, applesauce, banana, and chicken nuggets.

Stitch Fix

I LOVE STITCH FIX!

Have you tried it?!?!

If not, CLICK HERE, try it.

The short story:  For $20, you get a box of five items (clothes/accessories).  You keep what you like and return (postage paid) what you don't.  The $20 upfront charge is then credited to any item you keep.  It doesn't have to be expensive.  I've had many $20 tops/dresses/accessories sent to me.  So far, I've kept at least one item from each box to cover my box charge (and over the past five months, I've had five boxes).  I've also revised my profile page multiple times to reflect what I would like to see in my box. It's fun, see what it's all about and CLICK HERE!

Please try it.  If you click on one of my STITCH FIX links and request a box, I get a $25 credit....and makes me really happy.

Remember this cute dress I wore on our anniversary trip...
Yup, it's a stitch fix dress...it was only $35!!!!

hhuumm...okay, this has been enough begging for one blog post.

A Happy Place

Whenever these kids are together....I'm in a happy place.  We were talking about when we first met. I mentioned how I remember celebrating all the kiddos birthdays. Today we are celebrating Taylor's 9th! Happy Birthday Sweet Girl. Here is a picture from her 5th!  Slooooooow down time.
Olivia is quite fond of Aubrey.
The guys played a lot of basketball...and the girls jumped in some too.
bummed I didn't get a picture of my girls....

Bumps

Well, the good news is....hers are GONE!!!!
The bad news? Mason has them :(
Hopefully they go away faster than Olivia's....

Movies

During the summer there are $1 children's movies.  JACKPOT!
Today we saw "Horton Hears a Who!".  Erin and her kiddos were there, along with Chris and her two.....  And the rest of The Woodlands kids ;)  The kids did well - the popcorn helped...and next time, I'll probably buy more.
Afterwards we ate lunch and rode the Carousel.
Olivia was excited about riding the Zebra....Mason, wanted to ride on the bench?!
Aunt Erin getting diiiiiiizzy.

A Pool Visit

Today we had a playdate with one of Olivia's classmates at the pool!  It was the first time we've visited the public pool this season and the kids had a blast!

Job

Soooooooo....I kind-of have a job?!?!

Our Realtor was over at our house discussing French Oaks, when he mentioned needing help.  Joking, he asked me.  After discussing with Tim, things lined up and I've been working for him for the past two months.  I'm doing all the behind-the-scenes paperwork (writing contracts, finding comps, putting together listing paperwork, emailing clients, and helping to ensure the title companies/lenders have all necessary documents, etc...).  I work from home and my schedule is very flexible; the reason this job is currently working out so well.  I work before the kids wake up, during naps, and at night.  During the school year, I also worked while the kids were at school.  Now during the summer, I've hired a babysitter for a couple hours each week.

The best part - I'm really enjoying it.  I love my brain working in new way.  I love the satisfaction of getting work done and being told....thank you, that was great.  I love the distraction.

Do I think I'll pursue a career in Realty?  Eh - I don't know about that.  It would require a lot more dedication.  For now, I'm just thankful for this opportunity and glad that I'm enjoying it.

(here I am...in action...writing The Hawk's contract!)

Happy Half Birthday Olivia

(a couple days late - June 13, 2013)
4.5 Years Old!!!
She celebrated her day with Grana and Grampa :)

Tidbits:
*height: 42 inches
*weight: 42.5 lbs
*wears size 5T and XS girls
*shoe size 9.5ish?
*one of my new favorite Olivia's words: hospital = office.  "Ms Chris is at the office getting her baby."
*interested in friends and best friends
*likes rules and likes to hold other people to those rules
*great visual memory - she recalls details from when she was two
*LOUD....her boo-boos have very loud screams (I mean, she's hurt, she is allowed to cry and be upset....but this girl WAILS).
*Her Fits....are unpredictable, loud, frustrating...there needs to be a whole post on this, I just can't muscle up the energy to write about it.
*Enjoys books - likes to have books read to her and wants to practice her reading...the teacher in me would say she's reading on a level A or 1 ;)
*likes to play a game in the car where I ask her "I say ____, you say ____".  It's always interesting to hear what she says.  "I say 'truck', you say 'Mason'"
*writes her first and last name
*much to her dentists dismay - she still sucks her thumb (it's only at nap and night time)
*enjoys outside time - riding her bike and scooter, hula hooping, running, swimming
*speaking of swimming - currently she pretends to be a dolphin or Shamu.  Any person sitting on the side of the pool is nominated as the "trainer".  She spends more time below the water than above.
*sensitive to loud noises
*related to this, does not like the automatic flushers in public bathrooms
*loves a good bribe
*likes to pick out her own outfits
*independent
*generally speaking an excellent eater....prefers to drink water, only has milk in the morning, not a huge sweet eater.
*drinks from a normal cup
*likes: legos, movies, coloring, arts and crafts...has a small army of princess and my little ponies
*a great helper and likes a job
*

Yesterday

This was us yesterday evening.
Back in Texas, no more Pablos or Issac or sleeping in until 10am or reading books....  Vacation was over. Last night we drove to San Antonio to reunite with our kiddos.

Probably one of the best things about our trip was knowing that the kids had their own vacation at Grana and Grampa's house.  They went to the zoo, sea world (twice), visited Grampa's work, went out to eat, took a trip to the library, saw trains and rainbows, celebrated half birthdays, visited parks and did crafts.  They swam in the pool, went on walks, and watched movies.
Thank you for taking such great care of our little people. We knew they were in great hands and were able to relax and not have to worry about them!!  Olivia gets in the car and says, "That was a lot of fun at Grana and Grampa's house!"

10 YEARS

It's been 10 years since this:

And here we are today - a decade later.   One of my favorite photos of trip is the bottom left of the collage.  Yes, we are that happy...I'm usually laughing, He's always looking after me.  It's pretty incredible.

We are soooo thankful our very good friends Ben and Jenn were with us during this trip and we're already looking forward to the next one :)  We've known each other before our marriages and now, ten years later.

This Is How We Spent....

The Next Day

Here's our room.  Every morning we had a new towel animal...I'll spare you the zoo pictures.  The room had an outdoor shower, jaquizzi, and our particular room was a swim out casita.
Which means, you walked out of  our sliding glass doors, into the water of a lazy river.  The lazy river weaved to the pool that had a swim-up bar.  Our friendly bartender would also stop by our room if I was laying out in the chairs and get me a drink.  The cabana you see in the distance is the bar...we would exit our place and go to the right and follow the lazy river right up to the bar

or just sit and read a book :)
in the top picture, the washed out white area in the distance is the beach.
We spent most of our mornings sleeping in and getting room service for breakfast.  Afterwards we either read our books on the beach or at the pool.  We had massages and the other afternoons were filled with  lunches, naps, chats, and drinks.  Every evening we would dine out at the amazing restaurants.  It was a perfect trip.  Our weather was gorgeous, the resort was beautiful, the food was delicious.

OH...haven't mentioned.  We are vacationing with Ben and Jenn :)  They are also celebrating their tenth anniversary and, remember, the guys were best men at each other's weddings.
Cheers to 10 Years!
